There are four International airports in Kenya. These are

  1. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi.
  2. Moi International Airport, Mombasa.

Direct Flight: There are direct flights between the two destinations. London to Nairobi flight takes an average of 8 hours and 35 minutes to reach the destination at Nairobi. Both British Airways and Kenya Airways run the service of direct Nairobi flights.

One/two-Stops Flight: There are many one-stop and two-stop flights to Nairobi. Emirates, KLM, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, Kenya Airways, and Turkish Airlines all have indirect London to Nairobi flights. An indirect flight takes about 30 hours on average to reach its destination. However, this flight time is subject to change, owing to various circumstances.

For Mombasa, there is no direct flight from London but there are one-stop and two-stop flights. Kenya Airways, Lufthansa, and Ethiopian Airlines all offer one-stop flight services between the two destinations.

Peak Season (June to September):

June to September is the high season as the demand for flight tickets to Kenya remains very high. It is advised to book early so as to not caught up in the high-price fever. 

Off-season (March to May):

Nairobi: Nairobi is the capital and the largest city in Kenya. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is just 14 km from the city center and there are two options to reach the city center. The most affordable means of transportation from the airport is a bus. The other means is by taking a private taxi which is a bit heavy on the pockets.

Mombasa:  The coastal city of Mombasa is the second most prominent city and acts as Kenya’s gateway to the world. Until recently, private taxis were the only mode of transportation in Mombasa. These are of course costlier and they even take advantage of new entrants to Mombasa city. However, now the shuttle service is introduced to reach the city center from the airport.
